Beatrice Buttons by Sherri Baldy Stamps

Button, button, who's got the button?  Anyone remember that?  This saying came right to my mind when I saw this adorable image, Beatrice Buttons, from Sherri Baldy Stamps at Scrapbook Stamp Society! So head on over and check out the fabulous work of all the talented artists there.  I promise you won't be disappointed with what whimsical and fantastically fantasy images you'll find!  There's something for everyone!

If you've read much of my blog, you'll know that sewing was my introduction into the crafting world and I loved to use buttons.  Blouses were always my favorite thing to make because I got to pick out buttons and make buttonholes!  Silly, it may sound, but it's the truth.  In fact, my favorite blouse was a sapphire blue silk blouse that had a mock turtleneck and faux scarf and had buttons halfway down the back of the blouse.  Loved that blouse and I'm not sure if it was because of the color or the buttons!

Isn't Miss Beatrice a beauty?

I colored her with copics and used some Stickles around her dress and strap around her headband.  I cut her out using my nestabilities and made the flowers with my Spellbinders Bitty Blooms die.  The branches are a Martha Stewart punchy and the gems from my stash, and the papers are from K&Company and DCWV.

Isn't her face just the cutest little thing?

Here's a couple of peeks into the inside.

I tried to do the inside a little different, but it's not as creative as I'd have liked.  Still gotta work on that!

I hope you enjoy this cutie pie as much as I enjoyed working on her.  All these buttons are making me want to pull out my sewing machine and sew!  Hope everyone has a great day!

Sassy Angel, Autumn Style by Sassy Studio Designs

Oh, what gorgeous projects my Fabette sisters have to share with you today!  Since it's Friday, it's time for Fabulous Freebie Friday over at our Paper Craft Planet group!  Don't you just love this Sassy Angel?  She has a counter part and she's not so angelic!  Remember that you only have 24 hours to get over to the group and pick them up.  What a great treat to get two for the price of one!  I think she's fabulous and our challenge in presenting her this week was to use texture.  I thought, what's autumn without some crunchy, dried leaves?

The colors of autumn are just stunning.  I remember when I was young and growing up in West Virginia, I would go over to my grandmother's house (she just lived next door!) and we would sit out on her porch in her rocker.  During the fall, we would sit in silence and just rock back and forth and look at the mountains that surrounded us.  Looking at those hills with every color of red, yellow, orange, brown, and green was like looking at a master's painting.  It took me years to realize that I was looking at THE Master's painting.  My grandmother would say that it was one of the few times that I was ever quiet!  That tells me two things - she knew me very well, and that the time we spent together in that metal swing was important to her.  Yes, fall is more than just stunning colors for me, it's a beautiful, precious memory that was as important to someone else as it was to me.

I colored this beauty with my copics and used some stickles on her wings and cloud, Glossy Accents on her boots and sponged the edges of my circle with Wild Honey Distressed inks.  I used a floral cuttlebug folder on my patterned papers by TPC Studios and Mambi.  I used my spellbinders to cut her out and the ribbon and glass floral spray are from my stash.  I sprayed a silk leaf with Goosebumps and the texture on it is fabulous, but I can't get it photographed to show up.  I love that Goosebumps!

Here's a side view.  Can you believe that this was taken outside on the back porch?  Here in Ohio, at the end of October, we still have this much green!

Here's a closer view of her.  Isn't she just so angelic looking?

Here's another side view.  I absolutely love these fall sunflowers!

And my good stamping sister, Judy, is back from vacation and Judy, this one's for you!

Make sure you stop by the Paper Craft Planet group and pick up this gorgeous freebie and it's counterpart and to see what my stamping sisters have in store for you.  My gosh, I get inspired just talking to them!  And if you're not a member, join up!  We're so close to hitting 800 members and once we do, Lindsay has a fabulous freebie for us all!  And from what I understand, she's a mix between an angel and little devil!  Can't wait to see her!

Enjoy the weekend and I hope you find some time to craft!
